Through music, the brain can temporarily sustain a mood conveyed by the story of the song (or track). But I always wondered if the brain could be re-wired by listening to the same song over and over again. Acid jazz was never something I’d listen to at all, but did mildly enjoy whenever I came across it. Then I discovered Lyn Inaizumi, who sings in different languages to low-slung acid jazz. It’s laid back even when things around you are feeling overly city. It makes the mundane feel Zen, which in some ways the mundane already is. And I found myself wondering what if I just listen to this over and over for a week, would it re-wire my brain?
