Star log: supplemental

Far, far away from this place is Zentril-7, a small colonist planetoid, no bigger than Pluto, with its only claim to fame being its popular pleasure dome, Pleaze, where any man, woman or sligol can satisfy their every desire.

Pleaze is where I met Laurali, the green skinned beauty of the perversion rooms, whose mind is most open. There we talked for hours amongst screams of ecstasy and agony and nausea. I wish she was here with me now instead of the jaws of this kraken-spider. I need a spear.

Star Log 23/56

The silicon based life form, grotesque to the human eye, began calling for an end to hostility on all open sub-communication channels.

In response, Theodore Tedrickson the Third Ted, made course to the Oval Room to convince the President of Planets that we as a species must heed this silicon creature‘s warning.

The storm came to a head when the President denied all action toward the creature, waiting to see if its prediction for doom was right and to come true. It was.

Machine sounds

Pulsating square waves cascade into the mindful cacophony of a sweetly chilled autumn’s night, as the drum machine works its circuits into rhythm and a squelching bass modelling machine creates the sounds of little green men.

They each type tones from one to sixteen, effecting the air with cyberpunk sounds.

The relationship between sounds

I put some text into a cut up generator and this spat out:

This explanatory mood relationship has more cells not beginnings. It was people not Sound to evolve and appreciate music definitely and basically knew to being technology vibrations. It shows relations to cells in a more surprise way but forums can’t do vibrations, word people thought. Art and maturity also became sound and affect the state the society universe is feeling looking reflecting, but at your technological time, The music sounds music and what techno music is is vibrations looking to cultivate creation to form mental art that affects.

Themes cinematic

A screenplay’s theme should reveal to the audience your protagonist’s inner and outer journey as they move through the story.

For example, a story about a boastful barbarian that sets out to capture a jewel could have a theme that says ‘The impossible humbles all, even the most boastful of us.’ As they move from being a flawed individual, to realising their shortcomings, to becoming a better person, theme is revealed.

How this plays out across five acts:

Act 1: The protagonist is unaware of the theme and unknowingly resists it.
Act 2: They have experiences that help them to understand the theme, resistance lessens.
Act 3: Through conflict, vital knowledge is revealed that enters them into the theme.
Act 4: They must finally come to grips with what’s inside to accept their new self.
Act 5: They finally realise the truth behind the theme’s message and fully embrace it.

Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep in 2049?

After reading the Blade Runner book and watching the Blade Runner 2049 movie, I realised how much better the movie would have been if they took all the parts that weren’t used in the original movie and used them for the sequel movie. Things like the faux-police headquarters where all the cops are androids who think they’re human. The human blade runner working for the android police who starts to think he’s an android. The meaning of owning a synthetic pet in a dying world. And more, but those three points are a good start to improve the plot of the BR sequel. What may have been.

Dream: Eevee’s European Escape

She put her head down on the pillow and nodded off to sleep, leaving behind the black and white world for a kaleidoscopic rainbow awash in new colours, and then she found herself running.

Eevee’s ran from her fair share of hard knocks. She settled in at a pub working as a pushover, waiting tables nightly. A boy was her neighbour and inside this dream he was a handsome meanie, who would chase girls across the floating rocks outside their apartment building in Notting Hill.

“C’mon, it’ll be OK,” the meanie said. “Like it’s another Tuesday and I got a kettle on for ya.”

Eevee just kept on running across imagination, never looking sideways, just ahead at the sun’s face, which looked like Shaq chewing a pineapple.

Eevee took her smoke breaks at the sandy beach, where a silly lad in overalls would hawk electronics with a Hawaiian Shirt Bill Murray.

Eevee was alone in a vast space of burping sponges. As she looked around, there was a small cat-o-dile peering at her from above the nightmare foam permeating the Below.

“Someone pinch me, I think I’m done,” she said.

But she’s not anywhere near done, not until she makes it to the drop fall off the hanging cliff.

Dreams tend to go like that, she thought. They never give you room to breathe.

Preserve the balance

I came across these quotes today from Hayao Miyazaki and they were too good to pass by:

“Success?I do believe in the power of story. I believe that stories have an important role to play in the formation of human beings, that they can stimulate, amaze and inspire their listeners.”

“Many of my movies have strong female leads- brave, self-sufficient girls that don’t think twice about fighting for what they believe with all their heart. They’ll need a friend, or a supporter, but never a savior. Any woman is just as capable of being a hero as any man.”

“You must see with eyes unclouded by hate. See the good in that which is evil, and the evil in that which is good. Pledge yourself to neither side, but vow instead to preserve the balance that exists between the two.”
